FAQ's
Following are answers to our FAQ's.  If you don't see what you are looking for refer to Measuring 101, Drapery Facts.  If you still don't, contact us with your question.

Q) Can I order Samples?

A)  Absolutely!   Sample charges apply.  For Fabrics that have large pattern repeats, we recommend you order a yard of the fabric.  We will also credit 50% of the yardage cost with your Custom Treatment order.  Many of our Custom Drapery Hardware Collections also offer finish samples.

Q)  I'm not sure what width to specify in my Drapery Quote Request.

A)  We want your rod size.  We fabricate your drapery based upon your rod size and make the drapery at the appropriate fullness.  Non sheer fabrics are made at 2 1/2 x fullness and sheer fabrics are made at 3 x fullness.

For instance, if order a panel in a non pleated heading in a rod size of 24" the actual flat width of the panel in a non sheer fabric will be 60" ( 24'" x 2 1/2 -fullness factor).  The flat width for a sheer fabric would be 72" (24" x 3 -fullness factor).

How full you want your drapery to be on the rod is of your personal preference.  For instance, you can place the same 24" rod size (60" flat) on a 30" Rod and your drapery would then hang less full.  If you order a pair (2 panels), at a rod size of 60", the flat pair width would be 150" (60" x 2 1/2 fullness factor) and each panel would have a flat width of 75" (150" divided by 2).

However, we provide Quality Custom Fabrication and we always recommend our standard fullness factors.

For draperies with Pleated headings, the rod size you specify will be the actual panel or pair width.  The drapes will still be at 2 1/2 or 3 x fullness.  The fullness is "pleated up".

If you are placing 2 Panels on one rod and they are meeting in the center (not side panels), please specify a Pair.  If they are not meeting in the middle (side panels), specify a Panel and give the width (rod size) for the panel.  For instance, if you total rod size is 60" and you are wanting side panels (flanking both sides of the window only)covering 20" of the rod on both sides, then your width (rod size) would be 20".

Q)  Do I include my return sizes in the width I specify and do I have to have returns?

A)  No.  There is an area on the quote form for you to specify your return sizes.  We calculate the overall finished width of your drapery by the width and the returns you specify.  In many instances returns are not required and are your personal preference.  We recommend returns on Pleated Drapery.  Wrapping the drapery back to the wall always makes your drapery look finished off, thereby adding to the custom attributes.  There also won't be any "light gap" between the outside edge of your drapes and the window.  It is always best to refer to the specification of your drapery rod.  For information on what a "return" is See Drapery Facts

Q)  I see some some of your Drapery state "Flat Width", what is that?

A)  For some of our Drapery Products we make the drapery a certain width.  You'll find this term used in our Quick Ship and Value Priced Custom Draperies.  "Flat Width" is the total finished width of the panel.  It's your preference on the rod size you want to use.  We recommend a rod size no less than 1/2  of the Flat Width stated.  For instance, if the panel states a Flat Width of 50", the rod you place it on should be 25".  Your drapery then hangs at 2 x fullness.  If you want them fuller (like our Custom standard 2 1/2" fullness) then your Rod Size should be 20".  Flat Widths always pertains to Flat or Rod Pocket headings only.

Q)  What are my Fabric and Trim Choices?

A)  We offer a huge selection of Fabrics in various types and color hues.  Our Fabrics and Trims are usually in stock.  You may also send us your Fabric and Trim or a Fabric/Trim from another vendor (C.O.M.).  You will be given the yardage we need to fabricate your Custom Treatment as well as instructions to get it to us.

Q)  How long does it take for me to receive my Custom Treatments?

A)  Custom Soft Treatment orders will ship in approximately 15 business days from the date ordered.  C.O.M. will ship in the same time from the date we receive the fabric from you or the Fabric/Trim vendor. Q) Are Custom Products returnable?

A) Our Custom Products are specifically made for you according to your specifications and are therefore non returnable.  Custom orders may not be cancelled at any time after order placement as these orders go into production immediately. If you should need to cancel, return, or change ANY order you must submit your request in writing. ALL orders may not be cancelled, changed, or returned by verbal communication. All changes to all orders must be approved and confirmed in writing. All orders are bound by our terms and conditions.

Q) I want to have a Treatment Style made that you don' show, can you make it for me?

A) We offer Full Custom Window Treatment Fabrication.  We can make most any Window Treatment you see out there in the world.  Since there are many names of treatments it's best to send us a photo with the specifications (width, length, return size) you need and we'll send you a Quote.

Q) Can I machine wash my draperies?

We don't recommend machine washing any drapery even when it says you can.   Especially if they are lined.  You run the risk of damaging the fabric and/or shrinkage.  NEVER place your drapery in the dryer.  If you must steam or use an iron, test a small area and place a lint free cloth between the iron and the fabric. When your order arrives we recommend removing them from the packaging and hanging them as soon as possible.  We ship your Custom drapery fan folded and banded to maintain the folds and reduce shipping wrinkles.  Any wrinkles that occur during shipping will "fall out" in a few days.  We recommend dry cleaning or having a drapery cleaning service come in every couple of years.  Vacuuming your drapes once a month also keeps your window treatments clean.

Q)  I need help.  Can you provide me with a consultation?

A)  Yes.  Our talented Design Consultants can help you with anything your need.  Helping you get what you want is our utmost priority. We offer any service from questions being answered to Full Design Consultations.

We charge a flat Standard Ground shipping charge on most of our products. Expediated shipping is an option on all products.  Some products require oversized or freight delivery.  Refer to Shipping for more information.  Custom quotes will show the shipping charge.
